Robin Blaylock, 1942-2022

Puebla, Mexico
February 3, 2022

Robin Blaylock Rodriguez passed away on February 3, 2022 at the age of 79 after a long and strong battle with cancer. She passed away at her home in Puebla, Mexico, surrounded by her two children and her husband.

Robin was born to Rawland and Aubrey Blaylock on May 14, 1942, in Fort Smith, Ark. She and her family lived in Little Rock for many years. After graduating from high school at Gulf Park in Gulfport, Miss., she attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she completed her BS in Spanish and French. Robin spent the summer of 1968 in Puebla, Mexico, where she continued her studies in Spanish and met her husband, Samuel Rodriguez. In 1970, they married, at which time Robin began her life in Mexico.

She and Samuel had two children, Samuel and Sarah. They shared a long life together for 51 years.

Robin was a part-time teacher of English as a Second Language, where she loved her students and touched many lives with much more than language courses. One of her greatest satisfactions is life was teaching valuable lessons of honesty, kindness, empathy, discipline and work ethics.

God blessed Robin with many English-speaking friends who shared many experiences living abroad and raising children with two cultures. She was a member of the Iglesia Biblica Torre Fuerte where she also made wonderful friends and grew in her Christian faith.

Robin is survived by her husband, Samuel; son, Samuel (Carmina) and their daughters, Sophie and Dani of Bentonville, Ark.; daughter, Sarah (Tim Ross) and their daughters, Claire and Anna, of Waukesha, Wis.; and sister. Melanie (Mike) Eldredge of Rogers, Ark.

A celebration of Robin's life was held in Puebla, Mexico, on February 24th, 2022.
