Jeannie Elizabeth Boren Mortensen, 59, a native of Little Rock, Ark., and resident of Houma, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at 9:25 p.m.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday at the Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Latter Day Saints Church, followed by burial in New Hope Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, John Payne and Henry Mortensen of Houma; three daughters, Evelyn Trahan of Houma, Jennifer Grant of North Little Rock, Ark., and Jeanelle Scott of Bayou Blue; two brothers, Jerry Russell of Little Rock and Ben Boren of Atlanta; a sister, Gloria Shellnutt of Little Rock; and nine grandchildren, Jesse Taylor, Joel Taylor, Paul Trahan, Francis Grant, Rachel Grant, Johnathan Grant, Katelin Scott, Kristopher Scott and Koben Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben England Boren and Frances Marion Lieb Boren.

She was a retired custodian for the Latter Day Saints Church, a member of the Salvation Army, and a parishioner of the Latter Day Saints Church.

Arrangements are handled by the Chauvin Funeral Home.
