He was born December 15, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Hanson Young Griffin, Sr., and Flora Irene Nolen Griffin.

He graduated from Hall High School in 1960 and attended Arkansas State Teachers College where he was a Phi Lambda Chi.

In 1964 he served in the United States Army. While serving in the army in Germany he was injured in an automobile accident and is a disabled veteran. Later he went to work for the Arkansas State Highway Department as a draftsman.

Preceded in death by his parents, Flora Griffin Oaks and Hanson Young Griffin, Sr., he is survived by his sisters Patricia Griffin Morris and her husband Dale of Forest City, AR, and Rebecca Griffin Lockhart and her husband David of Waco, TX; three nephews, two nieces, three aunts and several cousins also survive him.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth.
