Dwight Holley, 1942-2023

Tryon, North Carolina

Jerry Dwight Holley, known to all as "Dwight" passed away peacefully at home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tryon, N.C. on April 14, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born on August 24, 1942 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

He graduated with a Masters Degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Arkansas and while there was a proud member of the Omega Omega chapter of Sigma Chi and spent one year as a variety cheerleader. He was a Medical Corpsman and Honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves as a Staff Sergeant in 1972.

He spent many of his years working as sales managers for several chemical companies, which allowed him to travel the world and visit places such as Africa, India, South America, and Australia. He loved flying planes, golfing, and after retirement he and his wife, Linda traveled on the Queen Mary II four times where they visited many places in the UK and Scotland. Later they drove thousands of miles to see the beauties of France where they had planned on living later this year.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, David in 2010. He is survived by a daughter, Sherry, a sister, Sherry, a grandson, Morgan, a stepson, Kord and his sweet dog Isabelle as well as the "love of his life" Linda who everyday still loves and misses him and his wonderful smiles.

Dwight will always be remembered for his strength, kindness, and willingness to help others in need. It was his wish that anyone wishing to honor his memory to make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
