Carl “David” Bird of Lighthouse Point, Florida was born on December 31, 1941 in Wilson, Arkansas the son of the late Carl Leslie Bird and Aarah Virginia Tyler Bird and died Sunday, December 21, 2008. David grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas enjoying all the goodness it offered, became an accomplished outdoorsman and was a member of the 1959 state champions Hall High Warrior football team. He began college at Hendrix and transferred to Rhodes College in Memphis where he also played football and served as President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He received a Juris Doctorate degree from Memphis State University. David was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, a Mason and a member of St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in Boca Raton, Florida.

He is survived by his wife Donna Trusty Bird and his children Carl David Bird, Jr. of Lighthouse Point, Florida and Katherine Tyler Bird Allen and granddaughter, Paige Tyler Allen of Lowell, Arkansas. In addition to his wife and children he leaves behind two sisters, Carol Jane Bird Barker of Memphis, Tennessee and Virginia Bird Morrison of Damon, Texas.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300 followed by a 1:30 p.m. service in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

While in Little Rock the family will be at the home of Linda and Robert Holmes at # 5 Bent Tree Drive.
