Cris Cloud, 1942-2011

Little Rock, Arkansas
March 7, 2011

LEIGH CRISTOPHER "CRIS" CLOUD, age 68, the oldest son of Ruth Cooper and Carl Cloud of outside Ida, Mich., died Monday, March 7, 2011 of natural causes. He is survived by a daughter, Cristy Leigh Cloud and a grandson, Timothy, of Texas, and a younger sister, Kay Donna (Lee) Van Horn of The Villages, Fla., and a special friend of 22 years Jephrey Ann Phipps Hubener. He was predeceased by his parents and by a younger brother, Ken.

He attended the 11th grade in Mablevale. He attended Hall High his senior year, 1959-1960, and was responsible for their athletic teams being named The Warriors, as his lineage was part Cherokee. He graduated from junior college at Marion Military Institute in Marion, Ala., where he studied pre-med.

Cris was employed for a short time in Cleveland, Ohio as a financial advisor. He had been an employee of Arkla in Little Rock, and at one time he owned real estate and insurance businesses in Little Rock; but his real love was golf. He always regretted that he never became a golf pro. His friends, classmates, and his family will always miss him. Services will be announced at a later date. Services are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
